Boston Glam

Hello, my design lovelies! It's been awhile since we had a long, juicy project recap post. Probably because this summer has been bananas - in all the right ways. We've been growing (see our Meet the Team updates!) and traveling, and generally just getting our design on. If you follow all of our behind-the-scenes action on Instagram, you probably saw some of the pics and videos from our Boston Glam installation. And if you missed it? You're in luck, because today is all about how we designed and installed a full-service interior design project in the heart of Boston. Can I get a yaaaaas?

Before

Downtown Boston, Client mood board, packing the truckLike all projects, we started with a floor plan and a mood board to nail down style and all the pieces that create not only the form and function of the space, but the details that make it personalized. In the middle picture, you can see our client after our final design session where we nailed down all the final key pieces we needed to incorporate: rugs - check, sofa - check industrial bar cart - check. Once we nailed down all the items, everything was ordered, and then placed on the truck by our local moving team. Before Installation View - Boston Glam Project

During

When we arrived, we had three days to transform this blank slate into the apartment of our clients' dreams. This included painting walls, installing custom artwork, setting up all of the furniture, washing linens, and unpacking every single last box. Can we say full-service? The goal was to have everything turn-key and in it's place for minimum stress and maximum wow for our client when they arrived to Boston from Raleigh.Cat after a long day, styled office bookshelf, and living room looking good.

After - Living

And we did it! We painted the office wall Salty Dog by Sherwin Williams, and built and styled the shelves for the office. We unpacked endless boxes of kitchen accoutrement and chose our favorites for a beautiful table. And in the end, the throws were thrown, the artwork hung, and my super-classy bun was about as big and fuzzy as it could be. Now for all the glamour shots:Blue velvet chair, skull pillow, geometric console, and storage coffee tableFor the living room we paired a lot of textural pieces with soothing blues, a pop of cranberry, and lots and lots of mixed metals. The key was to keep all of the different forms and textures balanced in the space.Fourhands sofa, west elm coffee table, gold fatboy, silver arc lamp

After - Dining

Looking back towards the kitchen, our favorite unexpected seating option - the gold fatboy - made an appearance, keeping the space youthful and fun. The tabletop was styled with the blue plates and goldchargers, and the bar features an oversized globe lamp and all the barware a person might need entertaining in their fab new apartment in downtown Boston.Boston Glam Project Bar CartTeal and Gold Table Scape on a Round Marble Table

After - Bedroom

Where the main space goes industrial, the bedroom went chic. The artwork set the tone for the entire room, and we pulled the color palette from there.Glam Accessories Accent DresserWe brought some of the lines and textures from the main room into softer graphic lines in this space. And the glamorous combination of luxe velvets, viscose rugs, and mixed metals continue the overall theme throughout this space.Boston Glam Project - Luxe Velvets, Viscose Rugs, and Mixed Metals Our Boston Glam clients hired Catherine French Design to design their new apartment space in the Back Bay part of Boston. This couple needed a place for entertaining, and a room for a dedicated office.  Like our RJ Reynolds Building client, it was obvious that the views of the Boston Skyline and Charles River were paramount.  We designed this space from the ground up, incorporating all new furnishings and accessories. We played with color, bold patterns and texture in this space, to build an edgy glam vibe that reflected the client’s personalities. Filled the space with art and objects that highlighted the clients youthful glam aesthetic. This was a fun and fantastic project that culminated with a four day comprehensive white-glove installation, and overjoyed clients at the big reveal.
